Speaking of elbows, we all know that this is a type of pipe fittings used in pipe turns, and it accounts for a large proportion of all pipe fittings used in the piping system. The elbows we use every day are seamless elbows. I believe many people will have this question: What is the difference between seamless elbow and seamed elbows? How do we distinguish them?

1. Different raw materials: seamless elbow is made of seamless pipe, and the seam elbow refers to butt weld elbow, straight seam elbow.
2. The appearance is different: the butt weld elbow has two weld seams, the straight seam elbow has one weld seam, and the seamless elbow has no weld seam.
3. Different performance characteristics, compared with seam elbow, seamless elbow has the following advantages:

(1) Hygiene and non-toxic. The material is completely composed of two elements, carbon and hydrogen, without adding any toxic heavy metal salt stabilizer. The hygienic performance of the material has passed the test of the national authority.
(2) Light weight. The density of stamping seamless elbow is 0.8-091g/cm, which is only one-tenth of the density of steel pipes. Due to its light weight, it can greatly reduce industrial transportation costs and installation and construction intensity.
(3) Good heat resistance. When the working water temperature is 70 degrees, the softening temperature of seamless elbow is 140 degrees.
(4) Good corrosion resistance. In addition to a few hydrogenating agents, it is also resistant to corrosion by various chemical media, acid, alkali, corrosion, rust, corrosion, bacteria, and electrochemical corrosion.
(5) Good heat preservation. Due to the low thermal conductivity of the material, the thermal conductivity at 20 degrees Celsius is 021-0.24W/mk, which is much smaller than steel pipes and purple steel pipes, so seamless elbows have good thermal insulation properties.
(6) Good impact resistance. Due to its unique impact strength performance, it has been significantly improved compared to other solid-wall pipes, and its ring stiffness is equivalent to 1.3 times that of the solid-wall pipe.
(7) Long service life. Under the rated temperature and pressure, the service life of the pipe is more than 50 years.

4. The price is different: Because the manufacturing process of seamless elbow is more complicated, the cost is more expensive than the seam elbow. Seam elbows are mainly made by secondary welding of steel plates, so they are cheap and versatile.
5. Different uses: seamless elbow is mainly used as pipelines or structural parts for conveying fluids, and is mainly used in the machinery industry. Jointed elbows are mainly used in the construction industry, such as conveying water, natural gas, compressed air and other low-pressure fluids. It is worth noting that all the pressure pipes involved are seamless.
