The customized SW Flange welded on both sides has a fatigue strength 5% greater than that of a flat welded flange and the same static strength. When using this socket flange, its inner diameter must be the same as the inner diameter of the pipe. The socket flange is only suitable for pipes with a nominal diameter of 150 or less.

The customized SW Flange connection is an important connection method for pipeline construction. Flange connection is to fix two pipes, pipe fittings or appliance materials on a flange plate respectively, add flange pads between the two flange plates, and fasten them together with screws to complete the connection. Some pipe fittings and appliance materials have their own flanges, which are also flange connections. Low-pressure small diameter has wire flanges. Both high-pressure and low-pressure large-diameters use customized SW Flange. The thickness of flanges and the diameter and number of connecting screws are different for different pressures. According to different levels of pressure, flange gaskets also have different materials, ranging from low-pressure asbestos gaskets, high-pressure asbestos gaskets to metal gaskets. The customized SW Flange is easy to use and can bear greater pressure. In industrial pipelines, socket welding flange connections are widely used.
