Neck flanges are divided into SO flange and WN flange. The real cost of processing flat welded flanges and necked flanges is similar. It's just that WN flange has more car manufacturing processes, which consumes more electricity and labor.

The full name of the neck flat welded steel pipe flange is the SO flange, which is the same as the plate flat welded flange. It is also a flange that extends steel pipes and pipe fittings into the flange through fillet welds to connect with equipment or pipelines.

SO flange is also a flat welded flange, because it has a short neck, which increases the strength of the flange and improves the load-bearing strength of the flange. So it can be used in higher pressure pipelines.

The reason why the necked flange and the processing cost are equivalent to the SO flange is that the value of the iron filings produced during the turning process of the lathe is basically the same as the value of the consumed electricity and labor.

That is to say, the auxiliary products produced in the car system can also be recycled, thereby reducing the actual material cost, and the value of this part can make up for the labor cost required for production.

Even so, manufacturers engaged in large-scale flange production are still willing to process SO flange, because the flat-welded products at least reduce the wear and tear on the lathe equipment.
